• Navigate to the TypeCharm listing in the Google Workspace Marketplace using your browser.

• You’ll see a blue “Install” (button on the right-hand side. Click it to start the installation process.

Select Google account

• Select the Google account where you want to install TypeCharm.
• This should be the account you use with Google Sheets.
• If you have multiple accounts logged in, ensure you select the right one.
• Potential issue: If you have multiple Google accounts, consider logging out of other accounts, as this can prevent (all) add-ons from functioning

Click “Continue”

Review permissions

• A pop-up will appear asking you to review the permissions that TypeCharm requires.
  • Why Does TypeCharm Need These Permissions?

Click “Allow”

• If you deny the permissions, TypeCharm will not be able to perform tasks like reading or writing to your sheets. Ensure permissions are granted.

Access TypeCharm in Google Sheets

• Once installed, TypeCharm will appear in your Google Sheets under the “Extensions” menu. Go to Extensions > TypeCharm > Show sidebar
• Potential issue: If TypeCharm doesn’t appear under the Extensions menu, try refreshing the page or reinstalling the add-on.

Add your API keys

• Upon first opening the TypeCharm add-on, Go to the settings page (gear icon in top right corner ⚙️)

• Enter both your TypeCharm API key and your OpenAI API key.
  • OpenAI key: You need this to access the GPT models for task execution.
  • TypeCharm key: Required to connect your free trial and eventually your subscription to the add-on.
  • Potential issue: Without valid keys, you won’t be able to run tasks.
